hey everyone, i have had my female bredli carpet python for around 3 or so months now and i have noticed she has a bit of a temper. she isnt that bad all the time but sometimes she bites at me if i just get hear her. i have heard that they usually mellow out around a year of age but before that they are bitey. this is one of the first carpets i have owned so if anyone has any advice i would appreciate it.

They are all different, most will calm down. My bredli only struck once, and that was when he was in shed. Out of all the others I had, some were bitey in the cage, but were all good once out.

Is she in shed? RTB is an active forum for boas, it is ok for other species.

no she just shed a little while ago. i think she is just hungry its getting to be feeding day. thats good. i have a female arabesque and a male albino that i plan to breed when they get old enough.

We have a 7 ft male diamond carpet, a female coastal that is a bit smaller, maybe 6-7ft and neither have ever struck, but they were obtained as an adult and sub adult. Then we have a yearling jungle carpet that is much less predictable, but thats so common in all baby snakes.... For kicks, here is one of ours out and about, invading someone's personal space:

lol nice pic.yeah it seems like the baby snakes are all temperamental a large percentage of the time.
