Brumation?

My tegu spends most of the day in his hide under the substrate. The only time he comes out is to get a drink of water, he doesn't even it. Is this brumation? And if it is, Is it ok to handle your tegu during brumation?

Yep it's fine, I don't recommend waking it up though. When mine are up and about then I offer food and see if they want to come out, if not I leave them be. They'll let you know when the time comes.
