Burrow Question

I dont have a tegu yet but once i do get one it will most likely be a baby, so my question is when its arpund hibernation time...do i use a man made burrow for him or do i add alot of substrate ?

I add a bunch of cypress mulch, about 6-8 inches, the babies love to burrow, and will hibernate in it as well.

My baby chacoan USED to burrow, but now she just goes under her wood.
