I am having trouble knowing what lengths of plywood I'd need to build a 8x4x4 cage. I know the sizes for the top/bottom and the sides. But I'm having trouble knowing what size to use for the supports. For the bottom frame I'd use 8x4s same for the top but then to connect those in the smaller parts what length would I use?

Ok if you are 8' lengths of 2*4 for top and bottom along the front and back. If you want a 4' height, subtract 3" for the thickness of the 2*4's and you have your height. 45". Now it all depends on which way you run the 8' pieces.
