Can someone explain how the chat room works? Everytime I click on it, it goes to the chat room and the only thing I see is a litle "x" in the top left corner

click on chat a box pops up run program click RUN the X is active X next time click the X run program yes. also make sure you have java and its turned ON. you can download java free.
