Cricket Explosion!

I have a 20 inch extreme giant in a 125 gallon tank. For substrate, I have a mixture of eco-earth and cypress that is about 5 inches deep for burrowing on one side. Unfortunately, crickets have started breeding in it. At this point, there are over a hundred pinheads in the tank! I am worried about them hurting him, although he is fine so far. If I need to change the substrate I will, but it hasn't been long since it has been changed and I don't want to change it unnecessarily. Has anyone dealt with this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've got some crickets in my 8'x4'x4' as well, from what I've read moisture is a crickets death trap so try keeping the humidity up a little bit more then usual. Other then that if they don't die then your best bet is to just change the substrate if they bug you that much, no pun intended :)

I can't see them doing any harm to the tegu, my girl just ignores them completely. They'll die off/be eaten by the time there big enough to do any damage to it.
