B&W's usually are just B&W where Blues can be really blue, or they can have a lot of white, or they could be albinos. there use to be a thread on a ton of different tegus. :chin Maybe that thread was on a different site. :doh

What do you mean by that Puffdragon? Do blues get bigger or are they harder to tame?

Doh, forums are horrible for jokes. I was referring to bruises on the body.

In all seriousness, scientifically there is little to no known differences in B/W's abd Blues. They are both considered to be Tupinambis merianae. Until genetic testing and habitat studies are done we will never know. The only differences currently are the visual ones. Size, color, etc.

Blues are generally smaller so it would make sense for them to have a weaker bite. I've heard that are also a bit more skittish compared to black and whites.

Besides size and temperament Blue's generally have much more white on them and they also have a "tear drop" under their eyes. Every blue has the tear drop but no other tegu does.

EDIT: Basically what PuffDragon said lol

b&w's reach 4ft and more, while blues stay closer to the 3ft range excluding a select few that get to 4ft. Also the color is a bit different, and the temperment of a b&w is a tad better, not saying you cant get an extremely tame blue because you easily can, just takes a tad more work than a black and white. Basically, color and size are about it. Also its said by some that blues dont need to hibernate do to a different climate, im no expert so im not 100% on that, just what ive read some places, davedragon or bobby could probably clear that up.
