do tegus tails take longer to shed?

My boy has completely shed his body all except his tail. Is this normal?

Yup! The tails are usually last to shed and sometimes can be difficult. If its being stubborn you can soak and then rub some coconut oil on it to help loosen up the skin. Be sure that when it does shed that all of it comes off all the way down to the very tip so it doesnt restrict blood flow.
