Does age matter when getting a tegu?

Does age matter when getting a tegu? Is it better to get a baby? Yearling? Older? Does it matter at all?

Yes it'll matter. Younger tegus can be much more susceptible to poor care. Older tegus can be very set in their ways and sometimes even grumpy. Of course, it varies animal by animal but I'd say in general most go with babies, unless you're rescuing.

Personal decision. I prefer to get one young. Easier to work with when smaller. A bite from a full grown isn't gonna feel to good.
