Does anyone know how long a blue tegu can survive outside its enclosure with no food ,water, or heat? Our blue tegu escaped from his enclosure and has disappeared into thin air.

Longer then you would think set up a heat lamp over a fireproof surface on the floor near to where he got out. Set up a water dish and some food. With any luck you will catch em. If u wanna get crazy if he is young and still on insects then let a dozen crickets go in the room! That should be great! Lol no I'd stick with the food and water dish and especially the heat lamp. Check for holes in the walls or cabinets that he may have crawled into.

Good, so not so cold that it can't move without additional heat.

My Argentine Cholmondely (Chumlee) was an escape artist a few months ago & found freedom a couple of times. The first time, he came to me when I came home & surprised the heck out of me. The second time, I neglectfully left an access door open. I remembered when I was a couple of hundred miles from home but figgered that the damage was already done & was prepared to find a free ranging lizard when I got home. This time he decided to be elusive & rendered himself invisible for a couple of days. He turned up in my bedroom, none the worst for wear. Now that he is approaching mature size he is calming down & probably realizes that he has a good thing going after all.

Thanks for your reply. We have turned our house upside down several times. There are only a few small holes in the cabinetry that he could of maybe got into. Not sure though how small of space he could of squeezed into, he's about 4 ft long? He escaped a couple weeks ago but we found him right away. The irony of it all is we had just received his new custom cage with a pad lock the day he disappeared. I'm getting worried, he's been gone since Thursday. Hopefully, he will get thirsty and hungry enough to come out soon. We have done the basking spot and food/water left out and put down baby powder with no sign of him coming out at all. The chance of him getting outside the house are pretty slim so we are praying that he is still in the house. Fingers crossed.

Check some high places as well. They do surprisingly well in the climbing department.
