Favorite Hare-Today items?

I want to place an order from Hare-Today, and was wondering what people found their tegus really liked. My tegu Shadow is under a year old, maybe 32" or so in length, and generally a very good eater - though not much interested in fruits or veg. I know there were some threads on this a while back.

I need to make the order up to 10lb of product, any suggested changes or items I should try out? I was thinking about the following products:

1 x Ground Goat/Bones/Tripe/Organs, 1 lb
1 x Turkey Hearts, 2 lbs
1 x Ground Turkey/Bones/Organs, 1 lb
1 x Ground Rabbit/Bones/Organs, 1 lb
1 x 1 Day Old Quail, 30 per bag

I know quail is a great choice you might want to try quail eggs as well, possibly some clam/ snail meet? I'm not too farmiliar with that website but I'm just thinking about feeder options I use.

I've gotten rabbit and turkey from them. Turkey smells gross when mixing it up, so bad I had to block my nose. I may just have a weak stomach. The rabbit is awesome though. My guy will fly across the cage to get the rabbit. Turkey he eats no problem, but less enthusiasm.

My columbian really likes the rabbit too and any of the ground birds except for the ground quail. If you decide to try the ground quail let me just warn you that its disgusting and i almost puked trying to divide it up..

LOL none of the other foods so far bother me like the ground quail. I had to have my husband put a fan behind me to blow the smell away because i was gagging..he thought it was quite amusing :/

I just got my order from them today. I got 2lb whole ground up pork, 2lb turkey, and 1lb chicken. I got rabbit before but I never really saw a response from my guy to any food that isn't alive. So we'll see how the pork or chicken do.

will all of that stay fresh as long as it is frozen?

As long as it is portioned and bagged correctly it should be good for 6 months in the freezer easily. I typically take stuff like this out of the bags it arrives in and portion it down to what will be eaten in a few days. I roll the contents in the bag so they are like cylinders which ensures all air is out when you get to the Ziplock on the bag. Most of the deterioration of frozen foods has to do with air within the bags/containers.

I received all of my items from Hare Today this afternoon. Everything except the quail were still frozen - aided by the recent snow here in Colorado and low overnight temps I am sure. It all looks good and I am very pleased with the ordering process through to delivery. I gave shadow a couple of Quail which he appeared delighted to consume with absolutely no manners whatsoever!

I certainly expect to order more from these guys.

Gwangi also hated the quail, so I ate it myself.

You all could save a few bucks by buying a meat grinder from Harbor Freight and a decent air rifle.;)
