Does anyone feed with the proportions as referenced in [1994 Study: “The Diet of Adult Tupinambis Teguixin(Sauria: Teiidae) in the Eastern Chaco of Argentina,”A Study Performed by Claudia Mercolli and Alberto Yanosky]
About 30-40% protein and 60-70% vegetation?
This person posted about feeding her tegus mostly plant matter and how they grow more slowly this way.

I'm just curious if anyone else does this and how have your tegus fared??
I ask because this article http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/10/141023091813.htm came out recently, which suggests slower growing reptiles live longer. So if a tegu can still do well on less protein, why not grow them slower?
