Hey there,
Im a 26 y/o guy from Sweden. I currently live in a city called gothenburg where I study printing. ItÃ?â??Ã?´s awesome. I used to own a couple of reptiles ten years back, but then I had to get rid of them (sold them).
I have always wanted a tegu, but we rarely, if ever, see them in stores here. So when i found one in a store i was thrilled. A real nice specimen too, from what I could tell. So I refreshed what I knew about them and found there was such a nice community around them, that means alot of people to ask for help if I need it.
Tegus caught my eye back in the nineties, back when my intrest in pets were the biggest. I think they look really great, so I always wanted to get one. When i began reading about them a couple of years back I read all this stuff about how good pets they make. Sounds great!
I expect my pet to be tame enough that we can share my apartement without me being stressed about him, and without him being stressed about me being there. I look forward to build a big 240cmx12cmx120cm cage (4x3x3, right?) as a nice piece of furniture and a lizard that can roam free without trouble. If he gets tame, i would be thrilled, but I guess not all tegus get as tame as seen on youtube.
My tegu "Patrik" was born in august I think. If i understood the shop-owner right they breed the tegus in Argentina, and send over the eggs by plane to hatch them in Holland. Patrik is about 55cm, and is calm when handeled. I let him roam about my apartment at least an hour a day. I dont have any good pictures right now, but i have a youtube channel with a couple of 30second clips from my cell phone.
anyways, if you bothered to read the entire bit: IÃ?â??Ã?´m glad i found this forum, I have hundreds of questions, but I will try to check if they are already answered.
