Diego has been down for about 5 months and he finally came out today. We have an outdoor enclosure, 12 x 6.5. After he went down, when we were about to get into the 20's, I moved cypress mulch in front of his burrow hole, put a red heat lamp on a timer and covered his burrow with a blanket and tarp. The inside of his burrow is about 1.5 feet below grade and filled with cypress mulch.
I was worried for a little while but monitored the temp in his burrow and outside the enclosure. On some days, I would get almost a 30 degree difference.
I was happy to see him today!!!

He ate some chicken gizzards but no kiwi the first day. I have some grapes out there today and I am not sure if he touched them. I am taking a slow approach to the food because it appears he is more interested in soaking up the rays.

A few more pics, as requested....
