Hi there! I don't have a tegu yet but I thought I should make an account. Currently I am researching as much as I can about these awesome reptiles. :) I will hopefully be getting a tegu at the end of this year or the beginning of the next.
Right now I own a rosy boa and a bearded dragon, but have owned several boas in the past.
Feel free to leave helpful tips or tricks you have learned through owning a Tegu. :D

Welcome to the forum. Not really sure how many people will be selling tegus at the end of the year or early next year because most tegus hibernate during those months except Colombians. Of course there are some argentines that don't hibernate, but I have never tried buying a tegu during those months, so somebody more experienced can probably let you know. Tegu terra is selling some nice yearlings, and underground reptiles has some argentine black and white hatchlings.

Also because of the size of the enclosure you are looking to make it would probably be better to get a female, they usually are a little smaller than the males.
