Help setting up timer light system?

Any ideas on how to set this up? I want to set up a timer light system that automatically shuts of all the lights expect an night one (for heat) then turns them on in the morning. I'm thinking of using a halogen flood light bulb and putting it in a pre made bulb socket, but I don't know how a timer could turn that off. I've found lots of information on needed temperatures, but none on HOW to set something timed up. Any help would be awesome! I need to get everything working 100% before I bring my guy home.

Ive done exactly what you want I think set up his UVB basking spot and ceramic for night like you usually would with the basking spot and ceramic with a thermostat, then I just got a normal on off timer and put it on the UVB and basking hope this helps a little

what wattage of lights/brand did you use? What kind of timer?
