hibernation vs. brumation

Ok so it looks like rayne is down or the count but storm is still up, I seen rayne 2x in the past 2-3wks, but storm I see everyday, he is still up basking, eating and pooping normally, but I think his activeness is bothering rayne, I'm thinking about putting herin a large tub, he is very large and I have seen him on numerous occaisions wake her while digging, moving rocks ect., the biggest problem is the hide, they seem very animate about using the same one, I have moved itaround, changed it a few times, I even got up to offer 3 seperate hides but they still use the same oneand idk what that's about, I'm thinking since she won't be ve4ry active a 5x2' tub should hold her over, it just amazes me that they both have the exact same husbadry yet 1 decides to hibernate and the other dosnt

Huh. That is rather odd. If you want her to hibernate and storm keeps bugging her them good call on separating them.

My hybrid might need to go into a tub. Rango is up, less active but up none the less. I took out one of their lights to see if I could try and persuade him to take a nice long nap too but he just moved himself to the other side. The hybrid stays on the darker half and doesn't seem to be moving a whole lot. He'll get up to drink some water but goes right back to sleep...

To those who put them in tubs, do you check on them here and there or just let them be?

I only see my extreme baby for maybe 1 hour a day, other than that he is buried and sleeping. ;o( the summer just went too fast! What kind of tub will you be using that is 5'x2'? do you burry them in substrate?
