i am wondering what kind of permit do you need to own a hot snake in va and also what kinds can you have without a permit in virginia

Native Venomous: No permit required, however, there is a possession limit of 5 of each species
Exotic Venomous: No permit required, except for the Brown Tree Snake (Boiga irregularis)
Protected Native Venomous: Permit required

Sometimes certian cities can have restrictions tho, so definately check with your local Fish And Wildlife office!

i want a gaboon viper one day or in a couple months maybe but before i got my hopes up i just didnt want to have a pet that could send me to jail hot snakes are venomous don't hold them only if necessary

I'd be more worried about it sending you to your grave than sending you to jail! XD Be sure to invest in some antivenom.

i have had copperheads and a couple cottonmouths but i am still thinking about what i want but sorta leaning towards a costal carpet python
