I'm going to be adopting an Argentine Black and White Tegu, from Bobby Hill of Varnyard Herps, and I was wondering if anyone who bought a hatchling got it any older then 3 weeks?
Purchasing, well thanks I don't really whant an older tegu since this is my first, I want it to be easier to train and play with it, although I did hear that some people say that older ones are easier to handle.
Eva was 6-8 weeks when I got her. I don't know exactly as I got from what I found out later was an importer of dubious reptuation. She was about 13" when I got her
My first Tegu was an adult when I purchased him, but he had been neglected and definitely does not like being held (unless I carry him so he can see over my shoulder). He mostly just likes to eat and roam around and get into trouble. A few days ago I purchased a baby (maybe 1-2 months old) who was also neglected but he has been a ton of fun. Having a young tegu has really given me a lot of insight into how they think and I now have a greater understanding of my adult tegu.
