Well there's been some progress. I can open the lid and put my hand in without him running away now and I've been able to handle him too. He's also spending more time out of his hide, so I guess he realized we're no threat.
It's just that sometimes when I pet his back or his neck, he'd enjoy it one time, and the other time I do it, he'd shake his head and\or back away. And I don't know if it has to do with my hand size but he always backs up when I hold him. I try to support him properly with both hands, but he seems nervous....
