Impacted Tegu? Golf ball sized mass

I've had my tegu for about 4 years, but now he has lost his appetite almost overnight. I brought him to the vet and he noticed a ball in his lower abdomen, about the size of a golf ball. I usually keep him on a cypress substrate, and I know that impacts are somewhat common with that. I'm somewhat weary about giving him some type of laxative because of the size of the mass (given that it is an impact) I know he is a male, so it cannot be an egg. Any thoughts or suggestions? Has anyone else dealt with this issue?
