For those of you who have dealt with impaction, were you able to diagnose it on your own or did you need a vet.
I am still not sure what is wrong with my AA, he hasn't pooped in a few weeks, but hasn't eaten either. His stomach is still pretty big, and he has urinated a few times. I have tried warm water soaks and even went as far as giving cod liver oil with a syringe. It is possible he is just slowing down for hibernation and nothing is wrong at all, but he still doesn't walk like he should. He drags himself around more than he picks himself up.
Another thing.. he passed some urates today and they were very hard, bright yellow and somewhat "grainy" (not sure if grainy describes it best). Is this a sign of something wrong or normal?
