I know that imported CB Tegus have issues adjusting to seasonality differences between mid South America and North America. The last couple of days have been an interesting confirmation of that.
Eva, (Evita), was awake yesterday when I got up at 7:30 under a small heat lamp. I turned her basking light on and later gave her a bath. She ate more than she has in a couple of months and stayed awake until 5:30 or so.
Today she is up with the birds again and acting like she is done with brumination. She never really hibernated as she would sleep for a couple of days, get up and bask and was down for a couple more. This is almost a month into summer in Argentina and I am thinking her biological clock is telling her to wake up for the summer.
