Hello and welcome. Sorry I'm late to the party been having a lot of trouble staying signed in for some reason. But I'm more on your side with the tail thing. I make sure to take a little more caution around the tail. It wouldn't be the end of the world if the tail comes off the tegu would survive but I prefer to try and avoid that happening
