Permission has been given to crosspost.

Dear Friends,

Mr. Frank Losey, attorney and professional consultant for all responsible dog owners and breeders, has worked tirelessly for two-and-a-half years investigating and gathering data concerning the excessive lobbying activities of the HSUS, a tax exempt 501C-3 charitable organization. HSUS has thumbed its nose at all tax payers in the nation while using money donated from many unknowing animal lovers who thought they were giving money to help animals when in fact, the money has been used to spread their agenda of eliminating agriculture and animal ownership as we know it.
Mr. Losey has compiled 755 pages of documents and proof of the activities of the HSUS and has submitted his work to the IRS, calling for an investigation. He then launched a program for animal owners and enthusiasts nationwide to write letters to the tax fraud division of the IRS, resulting in thousands of letters, the majority sent registered, inundating the IRS office in Fresno, California calling for an investigation of HSUS.
It appears the persistence of Mr. Losey and all animal owners and enthusiasts nationwide are bearing fruit. Please read the letter from Mr. Losey below. He has given permission to cross post at will.

Dear Animal Owners and Enthusiasts,

A number of individuals who wrote to the IRS have now received form a Ã?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?â?¦Ã¢â?¬Å?formÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½ letter response from the IRS Office in Dallas. Since some have received the form letters, that indicates that all will. Typing names and addresses on 4,500-5,000 form letters and envelopes does take a little time!!!!!!

Although form letters are often not worth the paper they are written on, this form letter is different for a number of reasons, including those set out below:

1. Unlike most form letters which are Ã?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?â?¦Ã¢â?¬Å?signedÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½ by a lower ranking individual, this form letter is signed by the Acting Director of the Exempt Organization Examinations Division.
2.The IRSbureaucratic glacier is now moving.
3. The form letter goes one step further and asks for other relevant info if you have it.
4. The fact that the Dallas Office is involved means that a total of four IRS(Fraud-Related) Offices are now discussing among themselves what is going on. (The other three Offices are Ogden, Utah, Fresno, CAand WashingtonDC. ) Discussion means that the IRSis taking serious the documentation that I have previously sent, as well as at least 4,500 confirmed letters that the IRShas received.
5. If the IRSis sending out form letters to at least 4,500 letter-writers, which states send more info if you have it, this means that the IRSis about to open up a serious investigation, and probably already has, especially in light of the fact the HSUS has taken off of its website some of its "finger tip" links having to do with lobbying. You now have to use the HSUS search engine.
6. I have a new point of contact to inundate with 755 pages of incriminating documents, in the unlikely event that my seven submissions have not been copied and forwarded to the Dallas Office.
7. The IRS"chatter, " which was a primary purpose of the letter writing campaign, is in full motion.
8. The most important thing is that the IRSis not ignoring the issues raised and is asking for additional informati on if it is available. I'm working on that!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

A HUGE "THANK YOU" TO ALLWHO WROTE TO THE IRS!!!!!!!

Frank Losey

It is about time something is done about them. I am so sick of seeing thier garbage on TV about how they want to collect money to help animals. The ones they have shown show sick animals, but we all should know they do not even have one shelter. All of the funds go to lobby on new laws against keeping animals as pets, hunting, fishing and even food. Do not donate to HSUS, your money will not go to animals in need. If you have donated, demand a refund for those funds, and give them to your local shelters, that really do help animals in need.
It is sad that they hide behind the name HSUS, they are not any form of shelter at all.

HSUS Under Investigation
The Animal Agriculture Alliance

The Animal Agriculture Alliance (Alliance) has learned that the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is being investigated for possible misuse of funds received as direct contributions from those wanting to help animal and animal owner victims of recent hurricanes in the United States.

Louisiana Attorney General Charles C. Foti, Jr., announced in late March that his office opened an inquiry into allegations involving funds raised for pet/owner reunions by HSUS. The Attorney General's Office is asking the HSUS for an accounting of all funds HSUS raised for the purpose of pet rescue and reunion with pet owners in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

According to the Attorney General's office, it received numerous complaints from pet owners about problems many are having finding their pets following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Through its association with other animal welfare organizations nationwide, HSUS documented and placed animals in shelters around the country, often resulting in the displaced pets' adoption. In some cases, the Attorney General's office said, pet owners claim that those who are currently caring for the displaced pets are refusing to reunite the pet with the proper owners.

''Once again we will be on the lookout to make sure that those who seek to raise money for Hurricane victims in our state, do exactly what they claim to do when soliciting funds,'' stated Attorney General Foti, ''While I commend the work of the many wonderful charitable organizations that have come forward to help us in our time of need, I also want people to know that they cannot take advantage of our situation in any way,'' added Attorney General Foti.

''If HSUS, as alleged, did misuse funds received from contributions made by individuals or businesses that thought they were directly helping animal victims of the hurricanes, then the organization should be held accountable,'' said Kay Johnson, Executive Vice President for the Alliance.

According to Johnson, ''This would not be the first time a national animal rights non-profit organization has misused funds from donations. In 2002, Farm Sanctuary, an animal rights non-profit that often works closely with HSUS on farm animal issues, was charged with misuse of donations raised for a campaign to amend Florida's state constitution. In that case, Farm Sanctuary was fined $50,000 by the Florida Elections Commission.''

The Attorney General is asking anyone with information about questionable fundraising activities by animal groups or any other groups to please contact the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Section at 1-800-351-4889 or visit the state Attorney General's website at www.ag.state.la.us.

7 Things to Know about HSUS

(The Humane Society of the United States)

READ AND BE AWARE

HSUS does not operate or have direct control over any animal shelter. Buried deep within HSUS's website is a disclaimer noting that the group is not affiliated with, nor is it a parent organization for, local humane societies, animal shelters, or animal care and control agencies. When HSUS merged with the Fund for Animals, they acquired some animal sanctuaries but those are usually full when someone tries to send an animal there unless the animal comes with a big check.

Since it's inception, HSUS has tried to limit the choices of American consumers, opposing dog breeding, conventional livestock and poultry farming, rodeos, circuses, horse racing, marine aquariums, fur trapping and medical research.

HSUS raises enough money to help finance animal shelters in every single state, with money to spare, yet it doesn't operate a single shelter anywhere. Instead, HSUS spends millions on programs that seek to economically cripple meat and dairy producers; eliminate the use of animals in biomedical research labs; phase out pet breeding, zoos, and circus animal acts; and demonize hunters as crazed lunatics. HSUS spends $2 million each year on travel expenses alone, just keeping its multi-national agenda going.

While most local animal shelters are under-funded and unsung, HSUS has accumulated $114 million in assets and built a recognizable brand by capitalizing on the confusion its very name provokes.

The current president of HSUS Wayne Pacelle, is a former officer of PETA.

HSUS is currently under investigation by the Attorney General of Louisiana in regards to the disposition of Katrina funds. HSUS has been under investigation by the FBI for their terrorist links to domestic terrorist organizations such as the Animal Liberation Front (ALF). One of their current officers, John P. Goodwin is a former member of ALF and a convicted felon for acts of terrorism related to animals.

HSUS consistently jumps on the bandwagon of any animal issue to raise funds even if they are NOT directly involved. Most recently, they used the Michael Vick case as a major fundraiser, even though HSUS had nothing to do with the investigation or care of the Vick dogs.
