Is it normal for a big tegu to be scared of a much smaller beardie?

So I was playing super smash bros on my switch earlier, and then my big cuddly red tegu whom I named charizard crawls out from under the blankets I assume waking up for the day, and when he clambers onto the large body pillow I keep on my bed Ellie my 8 year old bearded dragon was currently sitting on the body pillow and being the spoiled little lady she is starts hissing at him and I immediately find it hilarious that a bearded dragon would have the courage to act so huffy at a much larger tegu, but I was shocked when charizard reacted by quickly moving away off the pillow and on the farthest side of the bed away from her..

is it normal behavior for a tegu to be frightened by a smaller lizard???
