Is my Tegu hibernating?

I don't know much about the hibernation of Tegus, and don't know if it's just him sleeping normally or trying to hibernate? He buries himself around 6 or 7pm and doesn't come out till I find him under the soil. Am I being mean by disrupting him? I normally don't do that till 10am because I feed him then, so not sure what he is doing? He was hatched on 8-5-13 by TeguTerra!

Let him sleep and he'll come out when he's ready.

Yeah, I would avoid forcibly waking him. Just make sure his temps are accurate and he has access to them. Let him do all the magic
