ok so i have had jaws for a week now and 2 days ago she ate 1 small piece of ground beef and that was it..... also all she does all the day and night is sleep and i only wake her up once every 2 days to try to feed her... should i just wait til she is out and about before i try to feed her? and she is 20 inches snout to tail if the size matters

We need to know more before we can help you. What is she housed in, what is her basking temps, are you supplying UVB?? They need some time to acclimate to their new surroundings. Maybe she's not feeling secure, put a nice mylar aquarium background on 3 sides of the tank. She may be coming out, just not when you're around. Our all have different hours they're awake.

Read these and get back to us.

Beef isn't a preferred food, too much fat. I feed ours (adults) rodents once a week and raw tilapia (fish) once a week and fruit & veggies every other day. Young Tegu's need to eat every day. Mostly protein but try to get her to eat some fruit. Try feeding her large crickets, the motion might start her feeding response.
