How long have you had him? Has he started to get used to you yet?

Congrats on the tegu. I'm not surprised that hes squirmy since hes still really new. Hopefully with some work and patience you'll be able to tame him down pretty well. If you don't mind me asking... How do you have his cage set up? Temps, hides, uvb, humidity, etc.

You're gonna need UVB/UVA bulbs/tubes as well as heat lamps. I keep my temps at around 108 and my gu's love it. I read on your other thread that you were wondering what to feed it, check this link out.

Powersun with a combination of different bulbs.

Or you could decrease the distance between the basking spot and the heat lamp. Powersun bulbs are cool because you get heat and UVB in one.
