On facebook i just got a strange message regarding tegus. I don't know this person, but i have pictures of my tegu on my page and post on a few reptile-related pages, so that must be why he messaged me. Here it is:

"Ive owned tegus since 1979,,,,,,,,,,,keep them in the tub. they cannot dig; they cannot crawl out ( unless they are 4.5 ft long; then it is still difficult),,,,,and they poop is EASY to rinse out!!"

What?! Its shocking to me that anyone would keep a tegu in the bathtub! And this person says they've owned tegus since 1979! :bang

I think a tub with a shower door would be great .. Except for the mulch problem .. Easy to clean, big .Just throw the mulch in a rubber maid when you go to clean ... I`ve raised Early goats in the shower many times Just hang a light in there..

Just saying "tubs" is pretty vague. If he means a bath tub, it's a horrible suggestion. But he could mean a lot of things by "tub".

Regardless though, I wouldn't put much thought into a random unsaught message no matter how many years the person claims to have experience keepign Tegus.

Fromt he perspective of someone who has always lived in the city... that sound really weird :D

Goats can drop their kids in the snow up here .. So basically you have to bring them inside .. So then you need a place to keep them ... The extra shower I have works great .. Holds heat well ... cleans easy[ baby goats piss a lot ] nice glass door and best of all is already there and takes up no room ... If you had an extra tub like that I can see no reason not to use it ... Want to put a piece of screen over the drain to keep the mulch out .... I think its just like a little room what a great enclosure ...

But a tub would be really small for an adult tegu... And i know that my tegu could definitely climb out of one if he wanted to. Plus, with the way tegus mess around with everything, i'm sure at some point one could end up turning the water on and flooding themselves.

And the guy said "the tub" not "a tub".. I think "THE tub" would refer to one's bathtub. And he specifically said "they cannot dig," and depriving a tegu of the option to dig is horrible.

"Regardless though, I wouldn't put much thought into a random unsaught message "

I put too much thought into everything. My brain's normal state is to be overanalysing something, and i'm not even aware when i'm coming off that way unless someone tells me. lol.
