Ok i got this skink from a friend of a friend who was moving out of state and needed to find a home quick so knowing i have a few other reptiles my friend asked if id take it in. I let them know id probly keep it until i could find a suitable home as i wasnt lookin to get a BTS for myself. This all went down very quickly last week and i wasnt able to talk to the actual owner as the wife delivered her to me. I was told its a female though i cant make any promises, Shes around 21" long and fat. They said they had her for 2yrs but i dont know her age. She didnt know what her husband fed her but i think it was a dog/cat food mix of some sort from what was left in the bowl. Ive tried a few things but shes only taken little bites of canned crickets and hard boiled eggs. Ive not handled her much but shes shown no aggression when i have and she seems very sweet. Ive had her for less than a week. Theres one issue..i had her for a few days before i realized she had mites. Not very many but they were still there. Shes now in a separate room from my other lizards. My husband helped me take everything outside. We sprayed mite spray all over everything, wiped it down, rinsed it out, sprayed bleach water on everything and let it sit then rinsed like crazy and let dry in the sun. All decor/bowls were soaked in bleach water and let dry outside. I also wiped/sprayed down the skink and removed any mites i found. According to what ive read i should spray things down one more time so i intend to do that friday. Ive yet to check really closely but im hoping ive taken care of the problem.
I just wanted to put that all out there so there were no surprises. Im still wanting to find her a good home with someone familiar with BTS. Ive had some interest from people out of state but id much rather find a local home as im kind of uncomfortable shipping such a big girl. Im asking $100 but im very flexible on the price especially if you have a good knowledge of these guys. This is for the lizard and her hide rock and bowls. No cage.
Im in Findlay Ohio and could meet within a reasonable distance.
Heres a pic..

Agreed, her diet should be 60% veggies/greens.

Also keep her on paper towel for now and keep an eye out for mites. Their eggs can sit under a scale or in a corner of the tank and you wouldn't know. Their eggs take 40 days to hatch and I'm not sure how long until they become large enough to see with the naked eye and not microscopic anymore. I've been dealing that with a rescue snake of mine, you think they are gone and a few months later they are back T_T this time extra long quarantine
