Hey! I finally have some pics to post of Murph. Ive been trying to get my enclosure to do what I want it to do and have been putting off posting pics haha. Still havent got the enclosure just right but bleh. On going for a while I guess.

Havent even had him a week and he dug up all a bunch of dirt and covered his hide as much as he could and then surrounded it with leaves, dug in and went to sleep I guess. He has been in there for almost 3 days now. He is from Tegusonly. I am assuming he is going into hibernation or something. Super sad he did that so quick, not sure if there is anything I can do about it though.

In the pics you can see how he circled the leaves around. He got not help from us when he was doing it. Very entertaining how smart these guys are.

Hoping he wakes up. Let me know if yall have any tips on hibernation. He is still just a little guy. I think my enclosures temps are just not enough to keep him up after getting here from Florida maybe

So ya some pics!

Murph's looking great. A whole new home all to himself. If basking's hot and retreat cool, just watch what he does.

So he has been sleeping for a couple weeks. We took him out to check on him and give him a little soak the other day. Got some great pictures ill load up soon. This was really the first time we have ever had him out since adding him to his enclosure a couple weeks back.

He did great. Let us pet him and hold him and went to sleep as I was scratching his chin haha. Good times. He didnt hiss/huff, nip, or whip me so I was pretty pleased with that as a first encounter. After he went back into the enclosure he basked a bit and ran around and of course dug back into his hide and we havent seen him since haha. Cant wait for him to be out every day!

I know the feeling. A winter slowdown is healthy/ beneficial for them. Doesn't have to be too long.
