So, I've had some bad times. Bought Paz on Thursday.

But, the good news always wins out if you force it, and luckily I was able to work out an even trade/replacement. This guy looks a heck of a lot better in my opinion. Tell me what you think! I call him Zevi "my wolf"

He's strong enough to do this:

And see the big colorful tongue.

There's no V on Zevi.

Lively and alert.

:) Thanks.

No he has both tines on his tongue. One's blurred out in the pic. It's amazing how fast those things actually move...

He's doing well. I've fed him twice, offering two itty pinks, some banana puree and monitor diet (a dry pellet designed by zoos for monitors and tegus, softened with water). So far he's eaten just the latter, so I'll have to try a new approach. He needs his mouse bones and fruits after all. Good to see he has some appetite though.

Don't feed much banana, I think I has too much potassium. Stick with soft fruits (non-acidic) and berries. Ours like blueberries & strawberries.

thanks!

Yeah he doesn't seem too interested in banana anyway. I'll pick up some berries and grapes or peaches next time I'm at the store.

I am not big on fruit, he also looks a bit thin, I would give him a rodent as least twice a week, that will help him put some weight on.

Also, where did you get him?

Hey hows it going? I just bought a baby black & white tegu from LLL Reptiles as well. Have had him for a day and so far he seems pretty well. Yeah I know for a fact that LLL is a very good pet store. I have watched them various times feed their reptiles and I know that they are very observant on what they do. They always put their food on plates then slide them into their enclosures. My guess is that they tegu was probably getting hungry due to the fact that various of the little guys live in the same space and were hogging the food. Thus why it started eating substrate. I got mine in oceanside but the escondido store is alot nicer. But nonetheless, sorry about your little guy and I hope this one does much better. I live in Vista so if you ever want to get a second opinion on anything I am pretty close by! Take care man.
