It does take time for them to adjust. Try Leaving a bit in the cage in the morning and see it eats by the afternoon. What are you trying to feed it? And how old? I would try a soft boiled egg or some fish... something with a yummy scent to entice the gu out.
I recently got a tegu myself. Between the time of year and new environment, it seems not eating for an extended period is normal. The vet said not to worry about it, and mine finally ate a decent meal yesterday after ignoring food for almost a month.
