I have recently acquired a 2011 extreme giant, my friend is going to college and is living in a dorm so I took him a couple days ago. He is about a year old and comparing to the size of the other yearlings I've seen on the forum he is not nearly as big(maybe a little bigger then a juvenile). Thus concerning me. Also he is extremely nervous and won't even eat in a separate container. Soo my question is how to get him to the size he should be, and also how to tame him down quickly and effectively. Money is no problem or time I have 2 adult savys soo I'm not a noob ,
thanks.

Welcome to the site and congrats on the new pick up :)

But there's no quick fix, for taming or growing. Just work with him, feed and care for him properly and in due time it'll happen. He'll relax, come around, start to eat, gain weight and grow. As long as he's healthy and his tail base is blump with a decent amount of stored fat I wouldn't worry about it. They can go long periods with out food,.. he just needs time to settle in to the new environment.

They vary in size just like any and everything else, he may be smaller or larger than other tegus. So for now he just may be the size he should be.
