new crestie

so after much research my gf decided she wanted to join my hobby and made me buy her a crested gecko lol. well i kinda offered. anyways hes a fire/dalmation and i picked him up today and he is the biggest crestie i've seen. mind you i havent seen very many. i'll post pics tonight when his colors are out.

i was told that they almost always drop there tails, is that true?

Thats what they say techhousejunkie.I have 4 and they all have their tails but I see plenty without tails and they say in the wild most have no tail at all.The tail will not ever grow back.
Its almost unbelievably easy to get them to drop the tail too and people have done it when something happens to the tail.

Having no tail doesn't take away from their sweet personallity at all and I like that stubby tail look so I probably won't be upset if one of mine drops theirs. :fc

I will add that cresties can be just as addicting as any other reptile but the cool thing is they need no special lighting or heat.They just need room light and a normal house heat.

I have been wanting to get some cresties myself. I saw some not too long ago a friend of mine has. I really like them. I like all the gecko species though. I used to breed leos. I got bored with them. But the cresties I thing I will like. They seem like the perfect mix between. The Tokay and leo species. I like tokay geckos . Well I actually like all the wall crawlers.

Anyone know where any deals are on them ? It's hard to know who to trust buying them. Especially if you haven't fooled with them before. Any one know a trust worthy breeder?

I just dealt with Derek Dunlop (<!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.DDreptiles.net">www.DDreptiles.net</a><!-- w -->) and the entire transaction was awesome. I did check BOI before doing so and it was nothing but good things. A+++

ya so my dads redecoration his office so i cant get at the camera until tomorrow (its hooked up to his comp) but when he saw "Armani" (she named it lol) he told me to put a few in "Ferrari's" tank when he moves out so i guess i got the go-ahead from my dad to buy more herps lol always a bonus!

I just got three high ended ones from Kevin of Dragons Den. He has beautiful cresties.
