Hello everyone! I just bought my Columbian tegu about 6 days ago from back water reptiles. When I received him he was dehydrated and you could tell he hasn't been eating. He is very loving and sweet though and every day I have tried feeding him, he either has not took it or ate alittle bit of it. I've tried meal worms and crickets which both he declined. I've tried chicken and fish and he declined. The only thing he has ate is scrambled eggs.

I am wondering is there anything I can do different to try and get him to eat different things. They told me he was about 3 months old. Thank you!

Hanna,

A search of this vendor on board of inquiry at fauna classifieds reveals lots of dissatisfied customers.

First, have a vet that deals with herps check him out. Make sure little guy has plenty of fresh water to drink, scrambled eggs with multivitamin powder, uvb, a hot spot that he can get away from, and little stress keep in touch. Good luck.

Yeah, you are definitely not alone!!!! And for that I'm really sorry. Their name is chattered about a lot, so its easy to think they are a big or okay breeder. I know I thought that until I read a lot more. I hope others chime in, I mean would a bath stress this new baby out too much? What about making the food a bit soupy?

I have scheduled him an appointment at the vet for Friday to get him checked out and I've been giving him baths and he is still only wanting to eat scrambled eggs and I dust them with the powder. Thank you all.
