We live in North Ga and just got a baby Tegu (our first). Trying to learn everything to care for. Home depot sells cypress mulch but it says: (Cypress mulch blend). Doesn't say what its blended with? so I went to a retile store and they sold me a small bag of 100% cypress mulch called: Forest floor bedding but it was $30. Home depot mulch is only $3.00 and its a bigger bag. Did I do the right thing by spending $30 or
would the $3.00 bag work? Really appreciate someone's input.
Thanks

i had the same reservations...i shopped different places and decided to go the cheaper rout based on other postings saying to go to Home depot to get the mulch. well...all my reps are on the "blend" and i have not had any problems.

OH ya, and also i called one of the manufactures and asked them what the "blend" was and he said that basically that when cutting down the trees they just cut down all of them in an area and there "are a few" trees that are not cypress and they dont pick them out so it is a blend.

Most items sold in petstores can be found at diy stores for much cheaper...walmart, loews, menards and other home improvement stores all carry reg. cypress mulch for cheap...Sometimes you have to shop around. Just make sure the mulch is pesticide and manure free..another thing i did and im quite sure others have to is bake the mulch to kill off and bugs and parasites
