Just bought a redXblue male tegu.
About 4-5 months old.
Eats like a pig.
Digs like crazy.
And he's an attempted escape artist.
Also, he's pretty tame already....
Just can't wait till he get's his red.

That's rex...

Also, i'd like to build him a bigger enlcosure.
I've seen a few people have enclosures that were made with thick gauged wire versus glass...
is that a good idea?

He looks good. I doubt his coloring will change much.

The wire will allow any humidity to dissipate quickly. He could also rip up his nose on it.

The aspen you're using doesn't hold humidity and molds easily. Cypress is much better.

Here are my enclosures, the only thing I changed was replacing the wire with plexi-glass. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://tegutalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=345" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://tegutalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=345</a><!-- m -->
