Not sleeping under substrate

Not sure if this is cause for alarm but the last two days my tegu has decided not to dig under his mulch to sleep for the night. Instead he's been curled up on his basking rocks in the open air. Since I've had him every night like clock work he's gone into his hide and slept for the night. Is this a sign of anything or just something he is doing? He is in shed right now so I don't know if this has something to do with it.

Mine sometimes sleep out in the open,I have no idea why they do it but no harm was done.Its almost like mine are too lazy to walk over to the mulch.
