So another failed attempt at feeding time. I put him in the bin with 2 waxworms and 2 live crickets. I watch him for a little and all he did was try to get out. So i then moved him to the middle and moved away from the bin. Thinking he might be shy. When i came back 10 minutes later he was still there.. Eyes open. Watching.. So i picked him up and instead of putting him back in the enclosure.. I decided to watch "that 70 show" and hold him... Well guess what...

I'm going to be completely honest with you. When your animal is not eating because it is stressed, the last thing you want to do is take it out and add further stress. You should leave him alone for a week and continue trying to feed him. Feeding him in his cage is not going to turn him aggressive, especially not if it's just for a couple weeks while you get him started.

Appreciate it. If he doesn't eat sometime this week. Ill be feeding him in the enclosure.

Ladies and gentleman kahno has eaten!!!!.. He stuffed his face with ground turkey today and I mean stuffed. I think he doesnt know what to do with the crickets and wax worms yet.. After the him eating i gave him a little soak in the sink maybe for about 5-10 minutes. He stayed in my hand the whole time so i just drizzled warm water down his back.. After his bath i sat in my chair with him for about an hour...

So yesterday since i got him eating now, i tried to feed him crickets and wax worms but he seem uninterested. So what i did was i mixed up 3 wax worms and 4 crickets in some ground turkey and gave it to him. HE WENT TO TOWN!!!.. he ate all the worms and crickets plus 6 bites outta the turkey. Now to many that may not be much, but understand kane is no bigger that a pen and probably ways less than one too. So he stuffed his face.. Then i decided to try something new..

I sat in the sun with the window open to see if he trusted me enough to bask on me or jump off and run.. well he chilled for a bit maybe about an hour and then he got antsy so i put him back in my shirt thats in the cage and went to work lol.

One thing i recommend for all you new tegu owners out there. Always handle your tegu when they are full. They are much calmer and you could try this method so they learn that you are a safe spot..

Update. He ate some chicken liver today with 2 wax worms. But i noticed he eats every other day.. Took a picture of the way i give him a bath..

Looks like one of those aliens from toy story lot.. Im also thinking of changing his name.. Im just not feeling it... Something maybe to do with his alien mark lot.. I don't know.. Also today i gave him his first free roam on my bed.. He did good. He fell off twice and i lost him in my sheets once lol.. But other than that he did great..

Still thinking of a name to match his style... He love to be rubbed and falls asleep. Today was his first shed... Total shed time 10 minutes.. I put him in the sink with some warm water and just rubbed his skin off.. Of course he fell asleep lol.

Haven't updated in a while. What can i say. I can't even get a chance to clean his tank because as soon as my hand goes close to him he climbs on. But he's taming down very quick and is becoming a people gu.. He goes to everyone.. He enjoys his head out in the open and his body being rubbed.. He's blowing my mind for being a month. Here's some pictures i took. One with my left hand and one with my right.. Amazing little guy..

Nice brother! Bathala is the total opposite! He tries to snatch my hand up in his jaws everytime I open his door! He stops trippin when he realizes he kant bite a chunk off! Lol! He fine once I get him out though. Great pics and update! Might as well kall him Amun-Ra! Hahaha!!!

Lol. You can call him amun-ra. Everyone calls him something different anyway. Did you try just giving him your hand to bite so he realizes that you won't go away even with the fight?.. It won't hurt.. I promise
