has anyone ever used leaf litter in ur enclosure?? i read an atrticle in a reptile mag. then mentioned using them in a cage.

i tried it a lil while ago, just a few. put them in a bucket with really hot water and submerged them...like 2-3 times. put it in the cage...looked good. my gu kinda ripped them up. my backyard and front is covered in leaves, thought i might try it again.

any thoughts, concerns?

It is a very good substrate. Many monitor keepers use it as it helps with humidity and provides cover for the animal to move around without being seen.

When I rake up leaves in the fall I always dump a big pile in my outdoor enclosures, the animals really seem to dig it.
