Prolapse info needed

So as most of you know I took in a Sick rescued Tegu named angel. She is going to the vet on monday, but I was putting some vasline on it and noticed a spot of the prolapse on the top part that is greyish and almost chalky??? smells bad to. i know there is some dead tissue. Any idea what this is?

The only prolapse I've had any first hand experience with his for a hemipene. If its the whole cloaca There is all sorts of stuff that could be in there. Maybe the chalky bit is from urates? It's definitely important to keep the tissue from drying out. You might try a lil soak of water with some honey in it. It helps reduce some of the swelling. I hope the vet is able to fix her up come Monday. Poor baby looks like she's had it rough.

Thank you we have been soak ing her 2 to 3 times a day in warm sugar soaks and then with betatine. Yes she has it very rough..

Betadine is even better. Is she able to pass waste at all with the prolapse?
