Pros/Cons of starting out with a baby vs an adult

I'm currently in the process of building a 6x3x3 enclosure for my potential tegu i'll be getting soon. But just thinking about missing out on getting a baby and watching it grow like I did with my monitors I had before just has me thinking. Just curious before I delve into getting a tegu, wanting to know opinions and comments on what is best to start out with; baby or an adult/sub-adult.

It just depends on ultimately what you want. If raising thingsis something you like, then a young one is the better choice. If it doesn't matter, then go purely by looks or personality. I got mine as young adults. Been happy.

I got my Andre when he was a yearling (he's 3 now) and couldn't be happier! It did take a little bit of patience and time when I got him to get him comfortable with me and being handled but it was nothing major.

I got mine as a sub adult. I think pros of getting a sub adult are you get to skip the bug eating phase, calcium in the diet is not as big of a stress because they can eat whole prey and you can add more calcium powder to the turkey than you can to bugs, you still get to watch them grow some, and you can pick out what sex you want. Just my opinion
