really bad oder on her body

hey guys my tegu has been havin a bad oder lately like when she comes and lays right next to me i can smell her body and it smells like poop haha

i picked up her poop and urates everday in her cage

is this normal? or is somethin wrong in her cage thats givin her this weird oder?

What type of substrate are you using? I would check underneath it also make sure nothing is lingering like: poop, urine, old food, mold etc. Also once you inspect everything and its all clear, maybe soaking and a lil rub down/cleanup might help. I heard they have a slight odor after shedding (not 100% on that) Also urine might get in the loose shedding and sit till the skins removed, I met with Dave one time and his blue had a slight odor on the tail, it looked like it was just traces of urine that might have gotta in and sat while the shed came off.

She may have just walked through her poop!

I've noticed their tails do smell funny when they shed. Our Cuban Rocks small the same way. There's a fluid under the dead skin that helps separate it.

Whenever my GU's were starting to shed, I'd usually find them trying to get in the tub. :-D
A nice soak and they'd shed pretty quick. They'd smell alot better too.
Mom wasn't too thrilled tho...
