Run UVB next to grow tent light?

I have searched the forums but not found my question asked, or even somewhat answered.

I'm trying to figure out if I should use a double fixture and have a 10.0 T8 linear bulb in one socket and a basic grow light linear bulb for extra light output. This would be on top of a small cluster of lower watt flood lights for the basking area.

It would be in a 6ftx4ftx4ft wood enclosure.

If this sounds like a good idea, what size fixture? 2ft? 3ft? I know for beardies that it's 1/2-3/4 of the length of the enclosure, but I'm not sure what the rule of thumb is for Argentine b&w tegus.

I can't answer you question directly but I use the ReptiSun mercury vapor bulbs. Heat and UV all in one. Saves on energy. I replace them yearly. Just follow the guidelines on the packaging and make sure the distance to the Tegu is appropriate.

Use the T10's the whole length. And a separate basking light depending on age, basking should be anywhere from 110* for a baby to 130* for adult. If you run the whole length, vent the cool side so temp is about 76-80. Hot side will be hotter because of the basking lamp, about 90-95. Do Not use grow light, you will fry your tegu!! Humidity around 65% or up to 73%
