I have an 11 month old and it doesnt matter what I do I cannot get him to get on a proper sleeping pattern. Everyday its different, he normally will just keep waking up later and later till hes not waking up till 230 in the morning. So as he does his sleep rotation, there will be a week in the month where I see him and spend time with him because he is up on normal hours and then for the rest of the month it just varies. He's got great humidity and good lighting and eats very well, ive tried taking some advice here and there from others on fb but nothing seems to work.
Has anyone else had this issue? For months I just left his basking lights on 24/7 because I never knew when he was going to be up so I couldnt set the timer. Last thing I wanted is for him to wake up during a nite cycle and be without any basking heat the entire time he has been up. Then I tried setting the timers and figured after a few days he would get the hint, well he didnt...I started pulling his hide out of the cage around 3-4pm to try and force him to get used to a daytime schedule and that didnt work either, he just lays there doing nothing close by to his basking spot. Sometimes napping, sometimes just watching the four corners till about 8 or 9pm, he then poops and is all over and energetic at that point. By this time its getting late, its time for me to relax. I'll let him roam the house for a bit and then put him back to bed lights out around 1am. I need this stubborn tegu to wake up by 11am! Not 11pm!
