My tegu has started to come out of hibernation earlier this week but has yet eaten anything. I waited the first two days to make sure he stays out and he has so I decided to try and feed him ground quail the third day and he went up to it licked it a couple times and then walked off. He did it again today with the ground rabbit. Several questions I have is if the food sits in the freezer too long do you think that will deter him from wanting to eat it? It has been in the freezer since like September when I got him I ordered 5 lbs from Hare-Today. The other thing I was thinking of doing was buying some live pinkies and see if that will stimulate his appetite just to get him to start eating again. What do yall think? Any other suggestions?
P.S. Temps are were I believe they should be at. Its 112' in dead center of basking rock. The hot side is around mid-upper 80's and cool side is mid-upper 70's. Those really range depending on how warm my house is but it does not fluctuate drastically.
