Wow, the rare Yellow Tegu...Nice find.

Quick question, at 0:13, see how that juvie is jerking and twitching when he moves? At around 0:22 he stops doing it and is walking normal and much more fluid.

Any idea why that is? Scoob, formerly known as Sketch, my juvie colombian has the exact same walking tendencies but he does it all the time. He's done it since day one, and still does it to this day, almost a month after getting him.

Caution and when they're highly or over stimulated, usually when they're not too sure or comfortable with their surroundings.

Korben still does it every once in a while in different situations. Like when we're outside after he has stretched out and calmed down. If something he's not sure of catches his attention or startles him he starts with the jerky movements for a bit. Until he settles back down, what ever it was has stopped moving or gone, or may be realized it wasn't a threat or after him.

Sometimes he does the same thing when someone or thing he's not use to is around his enclosure. He'll come out of hiding to see what's going on with those same jerky movements and wide eyes.

Thanks and duly noted. I have to admit, it's comical to see Scoob jerking around. He's really high strung. I mean, where other tegus will spend time lounging and basking, he's in hyper-bask mode.

Give him 10 minutes of heat and he's all over the place - under stuff, on top of stuff, climbing stuff, jumping on stuff, all the while jerking around from spot to spot...looking at everything, tongue going like crazy, he even eats in hyper-mode...yet he'll let me pick him up with no fuss...

Sketchy is definately his middle name.
