I just had a general question on taming, more-so taming hatchlings or juvenile tegus. Just wondering how much time per day did you guys spend taming your tegus?
The answer to how much time should be spent taming is dependent on how tame you want your tegu to be. The more time you spend working with him, the better he will respond to you. I'd say at first you want to start with short amounts of time, but more of them. Training can be tiring work, so give your tegu 15-20 minutes of working with him, then let him rest. Do this a few times a day if you can. Then gradually increase the time you spend with him and the time in training. You'll do this to condition him to you and the training. If you spent 13 hours with him on day 1 he would be exhausted and confused and probably stressed.
